Requirements for entry/ terms and conditions
The artist

should not have a recording contract in place but may have an expired contract.

is allowed to have an agent who represents them in the industry.

should not have more than 60 000 followers /platform (TikTok, X, Insta, FB).

must have more than 5 000 followers on at least one platform.

must be over 18.

must be South African with a valid SA ID.
Entrants may consist of soloist, duos or groups.
The entrant's music must be available on Spotify.
Audio entrants only allowed. No music video required. Only music from 4 genres allowed (Amapiano/Gqom, hip hop, Maskandi, Lekompo).
Artist must provide a bio of 200 words and an updated head shot.
No song longer than 8 minutes allowed.
The artist must supply all details around the production of the song.
where it was recorded – if not in a studio, then the address where it was recorded.
All artists included in the recording must be correctly credited (writers, musicians, performers).
The artist must sign a document warranting that they have all the rights to the song including any samples included, sounds and voices included.
All the relevant parties have been paid in full, and all rights are owned by the artist.
The artist gives Bettabets the permission to play their song on the Bettabets in store radio for the duration of the competition AND permission to use their image and name in digital promotional material to drive the competition and to add the song to a Spotify playlist that we will promote.
I hereby confirm I will make myself available online for a few hours if selected, to attend our mentorship social media sessions. We aim to use these sessions to educate and mentor all selected artists to grow their public persona and following.
Any personal data collected in relation to the competition will be used solely for the purposes of this competition and will not be shared with third parties without the participant’s consent.
Participants can request to opt-out or remove their data by contacting bossofbeat@bettabets.co.za.
The organizer reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition at any time without notice, including but not limited to, if there are technical issues, unforeseen circumstances, or changes in laws/regulations.
The organizer is not responsible for any costs, damages, or losses incurred as a result of participation in the competition.
The organizer is not responsible for any technical issues that may affect the submission of entries.
The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms and conditions or engages in fraudulent activities, including but not limited to plagiarism or unfair conduct.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in South Africa.
By entering the competition, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
